Suzanne Taves
Suzanne Taves is co-founder and CEO of Eccis, where she leads go-to-market, investor relations, and operations. She and co-founder and CTO Maximus Blackbourne have shaped Eccis from the ground up, conducting 100+ research interviews that have informed the company's product, go-to-market approach, and fundraising, applying the same IDEO human-centered design methodology Suzanne has used throughout her career.
Suzanne is a repeat founder and enterprise operator with 20+ years building and scaling complex initiatives, starting in HR within advertising and entertainment before moving into technology, human-centered design, and organizational strategy. Prior to Eccis, she spent four years on Meta's XR Hub Leadership Team, scaling the metaverse employee wellbeing program from 2 enterprise pilots to 100+ in 18 months, work featured in Forbes. She met Maximus when he served as technical lead on one of her XR Hub pilots.
She has led organizations through growth and transformation across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
Earlier in her career, Suzanne co-founded two companies: Service Squared, a professional services firm operating across two offices with $4M+ ARR, and Mindful Management, a PEO spin-off supporting mental health clinics across 17 states and employing 500+ therapists. With expertise in strategy, finance, HR, and enterprise sales, Suzanne was honored by the Mayors of San Francisco and San Jose for nonprofit leadership.

Maximus Blackbourne
Maximus is co-founder and CTO of Eccis, where he is responsible for the platform's architecture, product design, and engineering.
Maximus spent over 15 years building the technical capabilities that Eccis later brought together, including AI-based penetration testing and cognitive security systems, autonomous cyber defense and GRC tooling, sealed networking for classified defense systems and custom cloud, data, and security automation for enterprise and financial clients. He began applying that work directly to what would become Eccis in 2022, building the first prototype in 2024 and founding the company with Suzanne in 2025.
Maximus spent over 15 years building the technical capabilities that Eccis later brought together.
Prior to Eccis, Maximus held technical and consulting roles at Lockheed Martin, Zions Bank, Meta, and Western Governors University, working across defense, finance, and technology. At Lockheed Martin, he built custom mission planning and 3D laydown systems and contributed to the company's hypersonic visualization program. At Meta, he worked on Oculus security and built and tested 3D worlds for the metaverse. He met Suzanne while serving as a technical lead on one of her XR Hub pilots. Maximus holds MIT certifications in cybersecurity and mathematics and a Stanford certification in computer science. He has published zero-day research and contributed to the NSA Emissary framework.

Dr. Matt Purkeypile
Advisor
Dr. Purkeypile holds a PhD in Computer Science with a concentration in Quantum Computing and a Master's in Applied AI. His academic credentials sit at the precise technical frontier that Eccis is built on.
He spent six years as Engineering Manager at Meta overseeing global collaboration infrastructure and 60+ engineers. He has made enterprise infrastructure buying decisions at scale and has direct insight into what CTOs and VPs of Engineering actually need.
He uses the product.

Katie Juran

Katie Juran is the founder and principal of Juran Strategies LLC, a communications consultancy that helps organizations navigate growth, change, and transformation.
She draws on more than 20 years of experience at Intuitive Surgical and Adobe, where she shaped corporate messaging and positioning during periods of major change. At Adobe, she led messaging efforts for the company's cloud transformation and its early positioning in AI, translating executives' strategy into market-facing language.
Katie holds a degree in English Literature from Stanford University, with overseas studies at Oxford University.
